The dual screens allowed a faithful adaptation of the Donkey Kong arcade game across two displays, with the lower screen showing the construction site levels and the upper screen showing the final confrontation. The Multi Screen format’s innovation directly influenced the Nintendo DS’s design over twenty years later. The original Donkey Kong Multi Screen was enormously popular and remains one of the most recognised Game & Watch models among collectors and gaming historians.
