Interton VC 4000 Games — The European Multi-Console

The Interton VC 4000, released in 1978 by German company Interton Electronic, was one of the most widely cloned second-generation game consoles in Europe — a system whose hardware was licensed and rebranded by numerous manufacturers under different names including the Acetronic MPT-05, Voltmace Database, Hanimex HMG-2650, and many others. Using a Signetics 2650A processor, the VC 4000 and its variants were sold across Europe throughout the late 1970s and early 1980s as affordable alternatives to the Atari 2600.

The VC 4000’s game library consisted of simple but engaging cartridge games covering sports, action, and puzzle genres. The console’s widespread licensing meant that the same games were often available across multiple brand variants, making collecting the full European family of VC 4000-compatible software a genuinely international pursuit spanning Germany, the UK, France, and Scandinavia.
