Salora Fellows and Manager Games — Finland’s Home Computer Games
The Salora Fellows and Salora Manager were Finnish-branded home computers produced by the Finnish consumer electronics company Salora in the early 1980s. The Fellows was a rebranded VTech Laser 200 — a Z80-based home computer manufactured in Hong Kong and sold under the Salora brand in Finland — while the Manager was Salora’s own more capable machine. These computers represent the Finnish domestic home computer market of the early 1980s, when Salora was one of the few companies offering Finnish-branded computing products alongside the Nokia MikroMikko business computers.
Software for the Salora Fellows and Manager is exceptionally rare today — produced in small quantities for the Finnish market, these games and programs represent a uniquely Finnish chapter in home computing history. The collection of Salora software in the Computer Museum Ata is one of the most significant in existence, reflecting the curator’s particular focus on preserving Finnish computing heritage that is poorly documented elsewhere.
