The Coleco Telstar Markman — Coleco’s Pistol Game

The Coleco Telstar Markman was part of Coleco’s Telstar series of dedicated home game consoles — one of the many variants in the Telstar line that Coleco produced throughout the late 1970s. The Markman was distinctive for its pistol-style controller, offering light gun gameplay that preceded Nintendo’s Zapper by several years. Coleco produced over a dozen Telstar variants between 1976 and 1978, each offering different game configurations on dedicated hardware before the company’s ColecoVision cartridge system transformed its gaming ambitions in 1982.
