What was gaming like behind the Iron Curtain?

Our colleagues in Romania have published the first two books in the Gaming in the USSR series, exploring the fascinating and little-known history of video games behind the Iron Curtain: Soviet Arcade Machines and Game Consoles in the USSR. Three more books covering Soviet home computers are currently in development.

Based on more than ten years of research, interviews with engineers and developers, and hundreds of original photographs, the series tells the story of a unique chapter in computing and gaming history that has remained largely unknown outside Eastern Europe.
