The PalmOne Tungsten E2 — Bluetooth Palm at Budget Price

The PalmOne Tungsten E2, released in April 2005, was a refined successor to the popular Tungsten E — adding Bluetooth wireless connectivity, a 30% brighter display, non-volatile flash memory, and a more powerful battery at the same $249 price point that had made the original a bestseller. Running Palm OS Garnet 5.4 on an Intel XScale processor at 200 MHz, the Tungsten E2 offered smooth, responsive performance alongside a high-resolution 320×320 display with significantly improved colour saturation. The non-volatile flash memory was a practical advance — PDA data would survive a completely flat battery without loss, addressing one of the most common frustrations of earlier Palm devices. The Tungsten E2 sold strongly throughout 2005-2006, representing Palm’s consumer PDA at its most accessible and capable.
