The Sharp PC-1251 — BASIC Pocket Computer
The Sharp PC-1251 was a programmable BASIC pocket computer from Sharp’s celebrated PC series — one of the finest lines of pocket computers ever produced. Sharp’s pocket computers used a custom processor and offered a full BASIC interpreter, program storage, and often an optional printer/cassette interface, making them genuine programmable computers in shirt-pocket form factors. The PC series was particularly popular with engineers, scientists, and students throughout the 1980s, and Sharp’s commitment to quality in this category made its pocket computers the benchmark against which others were measured. The optional CE-125 printer/cassette interface unit transformed the PC-1251 into a complete portable computing system.
