The Commodore Amiga CD32, released in September 1993, was the first 32-bit CD-ROM game console sold in Europe and Commodore’s final hardware product before the company’s April 1994 bankruptcy. Using the Amiga 1200’s AGA chipset with a 14 MHz 68EC020 processor and double-speed CD-ROM drive, it offered genuine 32-bit gaming at a competitive £299. Commodore’s financial collapse just months after launch prevented the CD32 from establishing itself, resulting in a small library of approximately 150 titles.
