The Intervision 2001 — Nordic RCA COSMAC Console
The Intervision 2001 was a game console sold in Nordic markets using the RCA COSMAC 1802 processor — the same processor used in the Telmac 1800 Finnish computer kit and notably in NASA’s Voyager space probes launched in 1977. The Intervision 2001 is closely related to the Ormatu 2001, both representing the Nordic distribution of RCA COSMAC-based gaming hardware in the late 1970s. Its presence in a Finnish collection is particularly appropriate given the RCA 1802’s Finnish connection through the Telmac machines — the same processor architecture that powered Finland’s earliest computers also powered this early Nordic game console.
