The NEC PC Engine Duo — All-in-One PC Engine

The NEC PC Engine Duo, released in Japan in September 1991, combined the PC Engine console and the CD-ROM² add-on into a single integrated unit — eliminating the separate CD-ROM interface unit and base unit that the original CD-ROM² setup required. The Duo offered the complete PC Engine experience in one elegant device, playing both HuCard games and the extensive CD-ROM library that had developed since 1988. The Duo was sold in North America as the TurboGrafx CD and in Europe as the PC Engine Duo, and it remains one of the most elegant all-in-one console designs of the early 1990s.
