The NEC TurboGrafx was the European version of the PC Engine — released in selected European markets in 1990 with a revised design and European power supply specifications. The TurboGrafx brought NEC’s impressive console to European consumers, though its commercial performance in Europe was modest compared to the Sega Mega Drive and Super Nintendo that dominated the European 16-bit market.
