The Nintendo Game Boy Advance — 32-bit Handheld Power

The Nintendo Game Boy Advance, launched in March 2001, brought 32-bit processing power to Nintendo’s handheld platform — using an ARM7TDMI processor at 16.78 MHz to deliver SNES-comparable graphics in a pocket-sized device. The GBA could display 240×160 pixels with hardware rotation and scaling, enabling ports of Super Nintendo classics alongside original titles. Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, Fire Emblem (its Western debut), Golden Sun, Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, and Metroid Fusion are among the most celebrated titles. The GBA also maintained backwards compatibility with the entire Game Boy and Game Boy Color library, making it a comprehensive Nintendo handheld platform.
