The Sega Genesis 3, released in 1998 as a budget model by Majesco Sales under Sega license, was the final hardware revision of the Genesis platform — an extremely compact version priced for the budget toy market as Sega focused on the Dreamcast. The Genesis 3 removed backward compatibility with the 32X and Sega CD add-ons.
