The Bandai SwanCrystal — WonderSwan’s Finest

The Bandai SwanCrystal, released in Japan in July 2002, was the final and most refined version of the WonderSwan handheld series — featuring a backlit TFT colour display that addressed the main criticism of the WonderSwan Color’s reflective screen. The SwanCrystal’s vibrant backlit display made it the most visually impressive WonderSwan, and its library of quality Japanese titles — including Final Fantasy I, II, and IV ports and original RPGs — gave it genuine appeal for Japanese handheld gaming enthusiasts. As the last WonderSwan model, the SwanCrystal represents the culmination of Gunpei Yokoi’s final console design.
